Prototyping Packagaes
Wonder Meal is a project focused on delivering healthy meals to children, alleviating the stresses of cooking for picky eaters. As a two-tier project, Wonder Meal is concerned with innovative packaging design on one hand, and the branding of such packages on the other. But before a packaging design could be settled on, a mixture of digital and paper prototypes were generated and assessed in terms of ergonomics.
Packaging Sleeves
A number of packaging sleeves were developed based on kaleidoscopic patterns of food illustrations that were decorative yet subtly reinforced the playful undertones of the brand. The outer packaging uses a simple and unassuming embossed design to hide a world of saturated colour and food bursting with nutritional value and taste. The packaging can also be opened and flattened to become a table mat.
Brand Identity
One of the first steps in the Wonder Meal project was fleshing out a brand identity that would bridge the gap between parents and children. Framing itself with an exciting and agreeable personality, Wonder Meal uses a very rounded sans serif font (Latohairline) and rounded 3D illustrations to match using Cinema4D.
Box Graphics
A variety of flavours and accompanying designs were put together using the same brand guidelines from which a balance of pastel colours against boldly coloured illustrations play a key role. Aimed at a Chinese market, the meal box uses popular Chinese recipes to demonstrate its potential real world value.
Final Meal Box Design
The Final Meal Box Design is models a complete meal set of cutlery rice and an accompanying dishes depending on the specific product.
Early Meal Box Design
This early meal box design sports a less decorative inner sleeve with more information placed on the outside of the meal box.
