Autoplant: automatic potted indoor plant monitoring and caring system
Autoplant
Autoplant is an indoor potted plant monitoring and caring system based on artificial intelligence and a plant library. It consists of three parts: the main device, the charging dock with the automatic watering device and the 'My plant' app.
Autoplant - the main device
The main device is a smart Mecanum wheeled car that can load a small potted indoor plant. Sensors are installed on the main device and measure the basic needs of plant life (soil moisture, light, temperature and humidity).
Autoplant - the charging dock with automatic watering device
The charging dock with automatic watering device can not only charge the main devices but also automatically releases the water stored in the device's water tank to the plants that need it via a retractable tube. One charging dock with automatic watering device can charge and provide water for up to three main devices.
Autoplant - 'My plant' app
The 'My plant' app is a supplementary tool to the system. It can transmit the data of the plant library to the main device and can also give the user feedback on the growth status of the plants.
Autoplant - scenario
By using sensors to monitor the state of the plants (soil moisture, light intensity, temperature and humidity) and then referring to the care plans in the plant library, the main device automatically helps the user to carry out planting tasks, mainly including moving the potted indoor plant to the automatic watering device to get water and finding a suitable environment for the plant to survive. Overall, the intelligent system offers users a new way of looking after their indoor plants.
