Through the use of a series of research and design methods, the product has obtained the exact design entry point, helping users who have shoulder injuries and undergo surgery to recover and exercise.

The overall appearance of the product
This is the overall look of the product. It is a handheld device that people can hold in their hands to exercise. It has an IMU, which can set the angle. When the user moves to the set angle, it can issue a sound prompt. It can also be connected to an external device to drive the user to perform external rotation.
Product structure and internal components
This is the assembly structure of the product and the internal components. The exterior consists of a casing, an OLED screen, a knob, and a switch. There are corresponding components inside. I have been challenged with assembly relationships and functional realization, which has improved my structural fabrication capabilities and programming skills.
Supporting APP design
An APP for supporting use is designed. In the APP, there are many knowledge and guidance that users need to use during the recovery exercise process, and the use of the product in conjunction with the product can help users clarify their exercise goals. This has helped my low-fi and high-fidelity prototyping skills.
Product and external equipment assembly
The product can be connected with a rotatable external device to help the user perform external rotation of the shoulder. The difficulty lies in how to make the product rotate to drive the arm.
Product display
Shows the approximate size of the product. And how the internal components work together. The hard part is determining the size. I tested it many times and learned how to make a prototype.
Sketching
After the investigation, draw a sketch to clarify the general shape and structure of the product. Learned the role of sketching in the design process.
Functional prototype building and testing
Build functional prototypes using development boards and Arduino. In order to meet the function, I learned the development of the development board program, and finally tested and modulated the function.
3D printing
Prototype development using 3D printing. In the process, there are too many supporting structures, which will be solved after modifying the design.

Work Experience
In 2019, I had an internship in Hangzhou PWLX Company. During the process, I faced the problem of inconsistent objectives and requirements between Party A and Party B, which gave me a headache. During the whole process, several revisions were made to the design scheme, and the final product was satisfactory to both parties. I learned that communication and clear design goals are an important part of the entire design process.
