Adjustable soothing dog seatcover
Some large-sized dogs experience anxiety and car sickness during driving. Their travel problems worry their owners, thus distract owners from driving. To relieve these travel problems, the adjustable soothing dog seatcover is designed to create a comfortable environment for the dog so that he can relax in the car.
The product can be used in three ways:
1) The large version, which covers the entire back seats of the car
2) The small version, which only covers two back seats
3) The portable dog bed, which can be detached from the seat cover and place anywhere the owner wants
Scenarios
The adjustable structure allows the seatcover to be used in different scenarios. Whether used in the unoccupied back seat, or sharing the back seat with one passenger, the seatcover can be adapted to different size versions by adjusting the side straps.
Exploded view
The seatcover consists of a front part, a back part and a cushion. The cushion is mainly used to soothe the dog. Accessories on the seatcover ensure that functionality is achieved.
1) Zips on the bottom: attach or detach the cushion from the front and back parts and change the size of the product by
changing the length of the zip connection.
2) Side straps: maintain the overall shape of the product in different sizes.
3) Velcro: roughly define the position of two parts so that they won’t move around when buckling the side straps.
4) Stitches: Horizontal stitches on two parts hold filling material to the fabric, keeping both parts flat and giving the
user a sense of security. Vertical stitches on two parts and cushions tell the user where to fold.
5) Mesh: let the dog and dog owner see each other.
Interior details
There is a dog leash inside, which can restrain the dog. The upright cushion allows the dog to lean on so that he can be more relaxed.
Prototyping
The prototype has been tested by users in their cars. Test results show:
1) The dimension of the product is suitable for different cars.
2) The function of size adjustment can be achieved.
3) The seatcover can protect car seats from scratches.
4) The soothing function is recognized by dog owners.
The product has been improved in details and in the usage process based on the feedback from user testing to get a better user experience.
Details of the bottom
Details on the bottom mainly include the fabric and accessories that hold the product in place , as well as zips hidden underneath.
1) The fabric on the bottom is non-slip fabric.
2) Anchors sandwiched between car seats are designed to hold the bottom of the product in place.
3) Snap buttons are used to tell the user how much to unzip the product.
4) Zips are both two-way zips. They are hidden underneath to avoid hurting the dog.
5) The yellow cloths sewn near the bottom mark the position of the zip head.
